Very nice job, but shorter is the header, better it is...
I'm not sure that I'm inclined to believe that. the stock turbo manifold is short as hell and it sucks the sweat off a dead guy's sack

Yeah. No.
i was told short for high rpm power, long for a broader range.
looking good, i want one now
they're all generalisms. if short was good for high rpm power, log manifolds wouldn't suck so bad.
LOL. I was waiting to read something like this. I've been wanting to do an up-pipe from the stock N/A manifold for some time now. I think it will work out awesome. The only concern I saw when I was thinking about doing it is the 3 bolt flange that always leaks at the outlet of the N/A manifold. I'm pumped to see the outcome.
sam used a flange off an NA car, and it warped up pretty bad and was too thin to really reliably seal up, so he bolted it up and welded it to the manifold. I had a 1/2 inch SS flange made, and welded everything together with it all bolted up, it doesn't appear to have warped hardly any if at all.
works well on his 8v with the same turbo, so I'm thinking it'll be a ridiculous stump pullin' sominabitch with a 16v head. not shooting for a lot of hp.
bastards! I have the turbo flanges and fittings, just need the piping... and waiting for the free weekend. I wanted to be the first!!!
what size pipe are you using? 1 1/2?
looks good!
