Simple question, as I absolutely do not know. Can the Volvo 2.0/2.3 Petrol turbo be switched from injected electronic ignition to a carburettor & mechanical ignition without ECU? Has anyone done such a dubious retrograde modification?

I just swapped in a 1991 2.0 turbo engine to replace my dead 1993, same engine. This 1991 has an oil cooler mounted next to the radiator. My cooler got pierced by a fan blade from a dramatically dying not-anymore-viscous-fan ... Are the hoses AN-8 or AN-10? There are lots of reasonably priced...
