Bumping this. Looks like I'll need to do this, the V8 swap isn't going to start until after I go to Ithaca in June for the EuroMeet '24. I'm getting tired of the Regina lean tip in condition. Have to baby it too much.
Should be able to bang it out in a few days, I hope. Swapping flywheel will...
I did have the entire kit with harness, switch & relays - mine was pre-wired for fogs, so I didn't need the harness, and I got the dual fog switch, and the relay is specific to just a few years - the generic cube will short out the headlight switch yellow/white wire all the way to the fusebox...
Finally got around to this - made the brackets needed to refit the single lamp units, using some suitable gauge leftover SS sheet
Test fit grille & grille brackets, which attach to the same headlamp mount brackets
Back to the base model nose job
With the fitment done, I moved on to rewiring...
Thanks - it was a long term work in progress, so I never tallied the outlays. The K swap was the expensive conversion, that I know cost me at least 8k in parts. Can't imagine paying labor for that, probably at least a 20k proposition. As it is, the sale price covers the cost of the 280Z up to...
Missed your post back in Feb. I didn't know the P80 rears fit - haven't looked into it. Back when I had my 98, I recall updating the rear calipers & (vented) rotors, but I don't recall what the updated (larger or vented) setup came from, maybe the 2000 R (?)....
The reman (new) unit I got off RockAuto (BBB INDUSTRIES 3070112) seems solid. For a tad under $300, I'd say it's not a bad deal. Doesn't come with tie rod ends or lock nuts.
One of the P80 calipers I had put on last year in prep for the V8 conversion seized on me - the rotor was quite blue . I had to rebuild the caliper as I had modded the 'clamp' section to clear the 15" Volvo wheels I use for snows. I got a complete kit with new piston off RockAuto. Doesn't seem...
In December I added a platform with an awning on the back of the garage, to use for storing heavy equipment that doesn' really need to occupy precious space inside.
My plan was to work on adding a real addition to the garage, but after meeting with one of the town building inspectors, my lot...
Hi - thank you Corivus - I still have the original harness connectors, so I was going to get 9004 LEDs - I've used Auxito brand in the past, which are not the cheapest, however they have the built in fans/heat sink for heat dissipation at the back. I have the H4 version in eCodes now. It would...
Going to go back to the original headlamp setup. I found a complete set with the frames, my originals were toast, and the lenses were yellowed. The problem with the Depot Ecodes is that the adjusters are crap - I haven't been able to get the the low beams or fogs properly set since I put them...
That is helpful - thank you. So basically, you bolted the adaptor plate to the firewall utilizing the stock hardware location, then bolted the GM pedal to the adaptor plate. Looking at the Volvo pedal, it appeared from the base design to recess into a cavity, that was part of what I was trying...
All the cam install parts and required tools are now here. I've fixed the space heater in the garage, and made a little more space by sectioning a bench that was much deeper than needed to give me a little more work space without getting too close to the X!/9.. Hopefully I can move forward with...
Mine started out as a 98 XC
Treadstone Intercooler -
Bumper bar sectioned & reinforced
engine bay
I also added a Shelby GT hood scoop and aerocatch latches
