The updated replacement ones are a lot better. I’m waiting for Asher to come in here and tell use that they all suck. |

Not nearly as fun. https://www.onlineathens.com/storyim...-307069966.jpg They were doing fine at 24-ish PSI w/E85. |

They're also 'logic level trigger - no need for a driver, no real need to sweat the dwell settings in MS, just run 12V/GND/TRG to them and let them figure out how to zap. You have to lop off part of it - mostly the plastic flange (it's circular, a bit too wide to fit down in the Volvo plug hole all the way). |
Weird. I bought one of those to test and it stuck out way too far.
|
Many thanks! Those are definitely not the coils I tried using.
Edit: Harald, we will never figure this out... |
I'm interested in COP options for my 16V also. Prefer they had their own logic.

|
Here's a couiple of quick pics I snapped (the motor is just sitting in the garage until I get the urge to put it in the PV):

Will try without the seal, brb.
|
I removed the sides of the palstic flange the seal sits on. That's how it can sit all the way down in the rectangular depression in the head.
There's a spring inside the coil tip that engages the sparkplug - once the coil goes on the plug it will go down a fair distance. Still, it's hard to judge, but your coil looks a bit longer. Like it's the same 'basic' coil, but there's that spacer below the main body - holding the boot. |

Hopefully, along with a roll cage. A lightweight rusty shell with primitive steering, brakes, suspension and insane HP. What could possibly go wrong? |
