I still retain that swapping to a B20 or AQ140 is a better use of money. You're not going to get far spending a lot of money on a small-valve B18 head. Even the worst B20 is an improvement.

I'm curious is you could get one of those Delco 1-wire alternators to work. Those have internal regulators, and just have a ground and one wire connecting to the battery positive.

You could try a high CFM 4-barrel, but I'm not sure airflow would be your friend with a setup like that.
