I got rid of this. It was more work than I wanted mess with

So I got my hands on a car that I’ve admired from a far for a long time. It’s a 1981 245 that originally belonged to another TB member ( Jason aka Rogue Status). He had done a bunch of really cool sh*t to the car. Here is a link to his original build.

But then the drive shaft came apart and did this

So then Jason sold it to Jared aka propav8r as a “Parts Car”for his 79 244 project

Jared with the help of a few other TB members (Kyle, Derrick,Matt, Gordon, and Kevin) managed to take all the goodies off the car and left basically a shell.

I asked Jared what he was going to do with the shell. He had planned to just scrap it, so I asked him if I could have it and he said yes. Then I changed my mind and told him I didn’t want it, but I changed my mind again and told him I did. So I went to pull a part and picked up some front struts, and Jared gave me a broken rear end to put in to get it rolling. Me and pops( aka MikeSr.) , took a trip up to the mountains of NC to pick the car up from Jared. We got the suspension in, loaded it up, and towed it home.

So here it is in my driveway in all it’s glory

I want to say thanks again to Jared for giving me the car,and being patient about me picking it up.

I already have a pretty cool plan in my head that will unfold here soon. Stay tuned

Oh yeah the car also came with this floor panel to replace that damaged one from the drive shaft failure. That'll be the first thing I do once I get it in the garage.

Count me as another who is glad to see this is being saved. I always appreciated this car, seemed like such a creampuff. But then again I'm partial to the Artesia Beige.

You could park a small car in the dish of those wheels! That's going to look good, can't wait to see them mounted.
