Default 1990 245 DL, K10042 instrument cluster compatibility

I recently purchased a K10042 cluster on ebay that was rebuilt by Wagonmeister in California. Cluster was in good shape. I do not have a tachometer wire in my wiring harness. The odometer doesn't move and the seller is reluctant to refund me.

I currently have a K9800 cluster in the car that I've repaired myself (backlight issue) and it's back in the car.

Is this cluster compatible with my car?

An automatic would have the K9800 cluster and a manual uses the K10042 cluster. It'll be off a bit but isn't a real major issue. Just check the speed difference on your GPS or one of those radar speed signs.

If you replace the odometer gears in these speedometers. I suggest replacing both gears at the same time for maximum chance that the gears will fix it and keep working.
