Is anyone using an external gate with a 90+ manifold? I'm trying to do this and am curious how people have the gate set up.

Have any idea what welding wire people use? 309?

309L is my filler of choice when welding to cast-iron.

I heat the casting up with my 40k btu propane heater, weld them, post heat for 5-10 minutes, and then wrap it in a welding blanket until it's cooled down.

Use an internal wastegate housing, you can get a flange that bolts to it instead of the wastegate housing, do this:

Use a NA manifold and fabricate a nice steel up-pipe (can be twin entry).

Weld wastegate flange to up pipe.

Flows better than 90+, proven to 600+hp.

No need to weld cast, good performing manifold, and cheap as hell.

The bit that looks like a trumpet going off to the right is what mounts the WG. It's been tweaked a little since this pic and is tapped right before the WG entry to get a pressure reading.
