any idea what the stock 4l60e convert weighs? And how are you taking the trans out? Engine still in car or take the whole damn thing out?

I'm pulling the trans out from the bottom, it's easy, when I swapped converters in the trans that's in the car it took about 2 hours. And I have no idea about a 4l60e converter weight. I assume it's alot lighter then this early 80e hd unit

interesting. I always wonder how much of a pain it would be to take out the 4l60e if I ever have to. I hope by that time I'll have a lift in the new garage. Carry on.
 
Welp the trans swap didn't go quite as planned, turns out the early model 80es have a different pan then the two late model pans I had. Oh well I ordered a higher capacity pan with cooling tubes going through it and I will probably fabricate some sort of skid plate under the car.

Speaking of 4L60Es, I broke mine.
Got any leads on good used 4L60Es? Or got any leads on a good used T56?

No way?! It broke??? :p

I have a buddy with one I believe let me call him and see if he still has it. Also t56s are stupid expensive and are usually hammered, I would do a 350z 6speed. Way cheaper even after you adapt it.
 
Got the trans in stalled with the deep sump pan and got everything together and filled the trans, it was only then I realized I have the wrong bracket for the shifter. I have a 4l80e with a neutral safety switch bracket on and the older 80e does not have that so I have to dig up the old bracket or buy a new one for 25 bucks. I'll probably choose the latter, also capacity is now at 18qts, hahaha
