WTF.. who steals a Volvo :( good luck buddy i hope it turns up fast and some kids just took it for a short spin and got freaked out or something

Wow, thats horrible. I hope you get it back in the same shape they stole it in...

Are we at the point where we have to start lojacking 240s?

Nice car! I'm sorry to hear the bad news. I didn't realize that people stealing old Volvo 240s was a thing? I hope it is recovered quickly and in good condition.

Sincerely hoping it was just joyriders. It was stolen in broad daylight (I believe around 5pm) from a pretty heavily trafficked street right in front of my house. I actually think I heard it start up, I remember thinking 'that sounds a lot like my car' - but I was at my desk and didn't go to the window. Then went to walk the dog around 8pm and car was gone. Found a blank/dummy(?) key on the ground right where the drivers door would have been. Also some broken turn signal bits, looks like they clipped the truck in front of me on the way out.

Had many problems with Volvos, but theft hasn't been amongst them.

Petty/non-violent property crime is totally weird in 'rona.

Friend's subaru got stolen and he circled & circled and found it a few blocks up, spent most of his time waiting for the police to show up/probably shouldn't have bothered calling it in/waited around for the cop anyway.
"leads"

IDK if its just because vintage car with shiny objects?
Or just joy ride/drug running/whatever?

It’s been recovered now, thank god. Joyriders damaged the passenger side fender and hood a little bit back in Corey’s possession again.

They have to be a little more sophisticated than joy riders to "make" a key and take your car. Take your fuel pump relay with you when you park it. Glad you got it back. The eye doctor in my town detailed his car last week , was going to trade it in the NEXT day. He left his key in the car and it was stolen right in front of his house. Talk about bad timing. BMW 525, 2016.

Yep so looks as though the fuel pump relay wiring fried itself at some point while the thief was driving. May have saved the car from being parted - at least the wheels from being taken. All in all Im feeling very relieved it wasn't worse.

Im very glad you got your car back. This is nightmare material for me. I pay for an extra covered car port in the back of my apartment building, and I drive back there almost everyday to make sure my wagon is still there. People are crazy and things are only getting crazier here, I should probably start checking more often.

Yeah, secure parking spot is $350+ per month near my place.. and by near I mean a few block away. But you bet i'll be adding some theft deterrents after this episode.

Dam, that is expensive parking. I could build another garage for that. Quick release steering wheel? I used to mount razor blades under my amplifiers and stereo gear haha
