Default 850 and 240 Suspension Compatibility

I've found a set of coilovers I can have from an 850 for free, does anyone know if the could be fitted to my 240 wagon with minimal/moderate modifications?

No, they can't. Just look at pics of what a 240 front strut looks like and what an 850 strut looks like. Pay attention to the bottom part.

850 has a separate steering knuckle that accommodated a FWD axle. 240 has the hub and strut tube integrated. Pretty far off without some major major fab work. Some other differences that come to mind are the 850 has the steering rack behind the center of the hub, whereas 240 has it in front.

You'd spend 10X + in time/money adapting the 850 coilovers to the 240 as compared to buying or making 240 coilovers

Theres probably a reason you got em for free...

You could reuse the front springs. probably about it.

You might be able to hack them onto a 960.

you can fit them into the back of the wagon without any issues

even the 244s trunk is big enough

Yeah, stupid question.

I was offered a good set from a friend of mine for free, just thought I'd double check.

Nothing would really be usable as the suspension systems are so different

700/900 live axle and 850/x70I FWD rear calipers interchange with no mods.
