83 245 Turbski Daily 2 seater "L Style" Van Build

You need 242 doors

For leg room reasons? Are you suggesting a 244, with a 242 door on the driver's side? Because I've considered it. I have 242 parts cars and could totally make it happen. Strictly because it's easier to get in and out of.

Made a good order of AC parts to hopefully get that taken care of today as well. New compressor, drier, tvx. Borrowed nitrogen to blow through after flush.

You could call it a Voloster....

I find the 242 much more comfortable than the 244/245 simply because the seat belt is further back, and my head isn't right next to the B pillar (6'3")

I also have spare 242 doors, but don't have the nads to actually do the bodywork lol

Behind the B pillar you say?
I'm 6'6" bro I look at the people through the rear window lol!
6" seat extensions on this thing have made for the most comfortable 240 ever, highly recommended for my tall dudes.

Looking good, love the airbox. Are you running a washer fluid bottle or have plans to relocate?

Thanks!
You know I have never had a 240 with a functional washer. If I lived where there was salty winter roads or something I might miss it. Usually just wash windshield when getting fuel. I may however fix this one because I'd like to install a rear nozzle to tinkle on tailgaters.

So upon closer examination I found a big hole in the low side line and no charge. Welp.
Decided to replace it all, for the most part.
We will have new compressor, txv, all new hoses, drier, and parallel flow condenser. Also ordered a hydraulic hose crimper and envirosafe refrigerant. Got the evaporator out and cleaned up also, going to straighten a few fins and send it.

:uh:

You forgot to swap the nice chrome handle on the new tailgate.

Looks good otherwise.

Thank You Ken!
You can see your kjet air box went to good use.
I still have it, but as you can see it is part QwikSteel. Still will likely outlast the rest of the car.

Got condenser mounted and crimping has begun. Decided to order all new fittings, as I was going to attempt to re ferrule 4 of the originals but at this point I'm just going to do it all 100 percent.

A/c ,

Hey , nice job, question What kind of condenser is that?
aftermarket or form another type of car?
I am trying to decide wether or not I use the original cause is over 28 years old and the car was slightly hit up front and im not sure if it is still good.
take care
DZ

Yo! The condenser is a universal, available from Amazon or eBay, sold as 16x23 Universal Parallel flow condenser.
Same fittings as stock, but you'll need a little bit longer hoses and 90s on the condenser side fittings.

Fittings and hose are from www.coldhose.com, the crimper again from Amazon. You could also get a local hydraulic or ac shop to crimp your parts if you don't plan on doing it often. I had other ac projects on the horizon so I bought the nice ish tool to crimp my own.

I made some decals with the picture of Hank, want one?
