and this!

Where'd you find a swamp cooler? How well does it work in hot weather?

Good old ebay. I shopped for a while to find one at a price i could talk myself into. I havent put water in it yet, im afraid of getting a face full of rusty water, but it sure blows the outside air in well.

Yeah Mint it was made for cars that lack a/c
They are pricey af now!
But look cool and functions well

Is the roll bar for a different car? More pics?

It was custom made by the last owner, he made it for show and not really for fit. It isnt my favorite part of the car but i dont think about it much. Im painting it black soon.

ok...you got me thinking now...i'm now wondering if this wouldnt be a good mod to my wagon taht doesnt have a/c.

might be kind of wild sporting one of these driving around in L.A., but might keep my wife and baby cool (literally/figuratively)....

edit:
just looked on ebay...these things are indeed pricey!!!...but still cheaper than a full on A/C install that I sofar cannot afford.

swamp coolers were a thing prior to 50s maybe even 60s
They work well but for the couple hundred $ you going to spend on it ----- just get your ac to work

edit: for LA traffic I would not recommend it - car has to be moving for it to work. Plus be prepared to get jacked

Ahhh - good point...

and i would never leave something like that out in the open LA...Palms is getting semi-sketchy again (so many burglaries).

yeah kind of a pain in the ass these coolers are - you have to fill them with water all the time and take them off when parked.

mostly vintage hotrodders and VWs run them

Yeah, if someone really wanted it they would be able to rip it out. Plus they would hurt your car in the process. It does get you a fair of attention though, I've never had so many people stop and stare. LA wouldn't know what hit it.

There is a company that still makes them, and offers them with a 12v fan so that you still get airflow while stopped.

They're stupid expensive though.
