What if it's some really bad alternator brushes? I thought it sounded like air, but if it's coming from that area and you're having charging issues...
Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform!
You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
Thank you for being a part of our community!
So I noticed that you can hear it some while the car is cranking and if it's coming from a cylinder it sounds like only one. I'll have to wait until I have someone here to turn it over while I poke around.
Recent discoveries have shown that I probably need to hook up my idiot light so my alternator will charge...
The only time you can hear it really clearly is right as the engine is shutting down and it sounds like it's from around the turbo
Like the turbo spinning down....
Pulled the plugs and they look...like plugs? Nothing weird really. I'll replace them anyway. Header is currently off to replace a few gaskets.
Biggest find so far is I can fit a .004" feeler in between the intake flange and throttle body. So even if that isn't my noise, it's definitely a vac leak. Thinking of cutting a thicker gasket out instead of trying to machine this thing though.
I'll avoid RTV if I can but, then again, I'm me so there's no guarantees.
