Had this 89 764ti for a while last year, was a sweet car with only 145k on it. Had to swap the diffy out as the po did too many burnouts with it, he got the car from his Gramma, one owner, and proceeded to run the piss out of it....... Damn stupid kids!!!

Not too many of the pre facelift 700 cars left here in MD, but most are 760's. I just bought the entire interior out of an '87 760GLE wagon. One owner, garage kept. When the engine seized, the guy junked it. It sat in a private junkyard for about a year and a half. The interior was almost flawless, except where the sunroof leaked on the passenger leather seat while sitting. Since my interior was thrashed, I'm very happy now, especially with a power driver's seat.

M47 conversion, Dracos, short throw shifter, K&N air filter, at least 3 Bilsteins, ipd 25mm sways, ipd heavy duty springs, ipd poly bushings, ipd low restriction cat back system - rear muffler...so far...and now a new interior that's two years older than the rest of the car!

To be honest, I don't consider a 760 turbo to be a true 760 as the 740 turbo was also available which was very similar but just with different spec/ trim level here.

To my mind a 'proper' 760 has to have a 2664cc or 2849cc PRV V6 under the skin.... I wonder how many of these still survive? I know many early ones suffered from camshaft and other problems and were replaced by redblocks by their owners, but they were nice sounding torquey motors in their day.

Somebody must still run one of these?

still got my 760.. Not currently working all that well, not getting boost and I'm not smart enough to fix it. After the LeMons race I'll get it up and running again, hopefully do the m46 swap as well. It's ugly as balls, but I kinda like it

my dd is a lowly 760t. 284k
There's a guy local that has another 760t. It still has nivos and sags a bit. Saw it last year with like 300 miles less than I had. Never talked to him though.

My 1982 760 had the PRV with M46, indeed very very torquey motor.

Still have another 760 in storage (1984) which has the PRV with autotragic.. I'm afraid it's going to get an engine swap as well... fixing the K-Jet is more expensive then throwing in a Redblock.. or maybe I can find a D5

I used to see some PRV powered 760's languishing at chicken wire dealer lots in Florida still around 2003, but they have all disappeared. They're not exactly fuel efficient nor cheap to have serviced so that's two big hits against them. I haven't even seen one on Craigslist in ages.

I always thought the "proper" 760's were the 88-90 ones when it became more of it's own model line rather than just a high-optioned 740.

Back in June or July I bought my current and only Volvo - 87 760 wagon white on tan leather. $500 and it was mine! Replaced trans, detailed inside (epically thrashed) and now I'm working on the headliner, tail lights, etc.

No pics yet, as it is still a work in progress.

I've got a 90' 764, only thing that sucks about the 90' in particular is they had a one-off set of taillights that almost always are faded and crumbling. Luckily the 90-92 740 lights fit perfect which is what I have on mine now.

Other then that I've got the 960/S90 dash, IRS(not sure whether to count this as a plus or minus, not enough is known about it really), luxury goods, aluminum hood etc....and the 90+ b230ft.

There's a really nice ~90 760 wagon at the PNP. A cash for clunkers victim. 94K miles. Needed a new headliner, other than that, beautiful car. Sucks really, really bad.
