So, after my 2015 Honda Fit was destroyed a couple months back, I decided that new cars weren't for me and went back to dailying my 91 244.
While the car has TB provenance having being owned by MikeP and son, and schaff70 and daughter, I was bored of it. I bought it wrecked badly in the front end and put it back together, fixed AC, and put 65k on it in a couple years time. I commute 70 miles a day and at the time was also going jobsite to jobsite, and at the time was able to write off mileage. I had maybe 2000 in it and it made me a lot of money, doesn't owe me a thing.
Then this thing came along cheap and I couldn't say no.
Lol. Bought it sight unseen, arrived on a trailer from Colorado.
It's an 83 245 Turbo, that had been retrofitted with a 90 B230ft and LH 2.4. It has some rust holes, but I ain't skeered. Came with some choice parts, and as a 240 parts hoarder, I already had some goods on the shelf. Also came with completely bald shot front struts, stripped strut tube, brake fluid leak from completely wrong flex lines, etc. Lots of sketchy kludge's and wiring. Leaking fuel too! In short a neglecterino in need of love, that I can see the potential in.
The goal is to have a low profile comfortable cruiser to make my 2 hour round trip commute in. Bangin system, dark tint, nice exhaust note, turbski sounds.
So far I have done:
-6 inch seat extensions. I'm 6'6", it's the most comfortable brick I've ever driven now!
-25mm front bar
-ipd lowering springs
-KYB Excel G struts, Gas-A-Just shocks (rep
-All new rotors and pads
-Replaced front calipers
-Replaced all brake flex lines
-7 new handmade copper nickel brake lines to fix ****ery
-full fluid service
-fresh 215 55 16 rubber on Hydras
-2.5 inch stainless exhaust, with hi flow cat and 2.5 stainless magnaflow clone "Totalflow" muffler (under 200 from Amazon for everything needed to build, wow!)
-threw the ****in e fan in the trash and Kenwood red chair restore to stock mfan to being a hoarder and having a 240 turbo shroud on the shelf
-rewired all battery and alt cables with my new hydraulic crimper big pimper, copper 4ga and 2ga
-repaired misc wiring ****ery including tailgate
-installed reciever hitch
Coming soon:
-rust repair and driveway paintjob
-245L conversion woodwork/load shelf/storage cubbies
-bangin system; so far have collected JL 12W6v3 sub in a ported box from the Fit, JL 600/6 v2 courtesy of my stepson. Need to acquire a sub amp of around 1kw (on the lookout for a JL 1000/1). Plan on running the stock CR 2170 into a LOC into Dayton Audio DSP, also JL audio Bluetooth reciever into the DSP. That and my President Ronald CB radio will be in the glovebox out of sight. Planning on 3 way active front and no rear speakers, 6.5 in the bottom of the door, 4 inch mid in factory spot, tweets in the pillars. Low profile.
-fresh deep tint job
-custom door panels
And probably more to come.
So here's some pictures of where we are now.
