The Interior Photo Thread:

My 245.

S40 seat swap, black carpet, door panels and m47 swap

I did an S70 seat swap on mine, ended up having to find manual seats and do some aluminum welding to utilize the 240 sliders... curious how you did yours? Are the S40 seats different than the S70 ones?

Also, I'm presuming rear seats involved lots of fab?

Acura Integra seats...actually not bad.

The tweed looks to be like the stuff Volvo used on the US model DL's in 1982-83 (and Canadian DL's in 1982-84). Looser grain of tweed than the stuff used on 1989-93 240's. It's just that the US models had the all-vinyl door panels, instead of the half-tweed panels shown above.

Anyway:

First '84 245GL - bought new, was blue/black originally with an Aw70. At time of photo, there were some parts of an '85 245DL interior installed, and a '79 M46.

Red '83 245Ti before I sold it - seats were from my family's old gray '84 245GL that I converted to a black interior. Car, like the '84 245 shown above, was originally autotragic.

Beige '81 242DL. My first car. Originally had brown cloth. In the summer of '97, I found a gray/tan Diesel that had fairly decent tan leather seats in it. Swapped them to my car, using my original seats' back frames with the latch mechanisms.

My previous '85 245T, as I was swapping interior pieces prior to selling the car. Yes, the barney purple switch went with it. Was used for the driving lights. Gauge cluster was replaced with an upper dash pocket out of an '86 244DL, with the oil pressure and turbo gauges mounted next to the vents and the pocket.

Nathan...

1) -- nice car!
2) -- you need to make me one of those center gauge panels!
3) -- Where did that shift boot come from?
4) -- Better pics!

Thanks man :)

Thanks. I can make another vent guage setup. Once painted semigloss, it almost looks factory!

That shift boot came from a 740. I need to get it tucked in a little better.

And I fianally have the Autometer ES wideband isntalled, so it all looks legit now.

I finally took some interior photos somewhere other than parked in my garage, so here's my 81 242's interior as of today.

And an older pic showing the view from the driver's seat.

Does a trunk count as interior?

Some really nice interiors in here. Mine needs some TLC.

When I first got it.

The seats look nice, but the foam was shot.

Probably the best set of black leather 240 seats I've ever seen in person. Not bad for $100. Need to find a 242 with a black interior to take pieces from.

I REALLY need a new dash. 20 some odd years in california, rough on the old volvo.

How do you guys keep the little buttons on the seats black?

I'm working on turning my '83 245 DL into a nice daily driver and a little less of a beater. I need to get replacement inside door handles for all the doors because the foam is just falling apart. Need to track down another front seat as well, and I'd like to get a cloth seat in the back.
