Vol242vo's 1980 Cali White 1 Owner 242

I swapped over the GLE chrome lined vents, clock, and glovebox I already had and added a tachometer. Also, recently sourced an awesome looking R-Sport Momo wheel that?ll need a nice re-wrap. Let me know if anyone knows reputable upholster that?ll do this, I?m not having any luck so far.

I have a Volvo MOMO wheel that needs rewrapping too. A friend of mine has 2 Porsche MOMO wheels that were redone by www.sidcocustoms.com they did a fantastic job on them. I don't know how much they charge, but my friend is very happy with that company and how they turned out. that's my .02
Attached pics of his wheels for your viewing pleasure

Incredible. I have a quote right now for $375 from an outfit in Texas that looks and sounds reputable. Thanks for this. I’ll give them a call.

Spent some time this weekend swapping out the stock fuel pump and accumulator for a low psi (2.5 to 5) fuel pump to feed the weber carburetor. I also removed the fuel distributor, intake manifold, air conditioning components, and other KJet items to get a good cleaning to the engine and bay. This is just the first step to get things clean under the hood again, this won't be a 'shaved' bay but it will get a nice tidying up. I've always had great results with purple power and my pressure washer, spent a solid 3 hours spraying and lightly scrubbing.

It?s Weber 32/36 DGV - Super easy to work with and extremely reliable.
Ah, bummer. :) I was hoping it wasn't that. I had one on my B20 back in the day, adequate for the 90hp it had, but nothing fun. The 38/38 would've made it more reasonable but it still had smaller throats than the SUs(44). I like performance too much!

It?s all good. This will get me going and ultimately I?ll be running DCOE 45s.

DCOEs as an end goal makes more sense. I haven't had my B18 with a weber for long but I can tell there isn't much headroom to work with. Then again the Jeep guys make it work on 4.0L engines. I have been tempted by a 38/38 to replace my 32/36 when I eventually toss in a new cam and bump compression up to B18B spec. Although at that point rebuilding my thrashed SUs with new throttle shaft bushings can be done for a similar price.

It is the first carbureted car I actually own and I am in love with the sound of a carburetor on a redblock with a decent exhaust. So I am with you there.

When I purchased the carburetor I was told it was a 32/36 however, after further investigation, the carb is clearly stamped 38DGAS. Barrels are synchronized and good for 140 to 150 hp. I feel much better about this until I swap to DCOEs.

Looking very good!

For the steering wheel, maybe try Car-Bone (https://car-bone.pl/upholstery/) I've never used them but have seen their work on several group buys of steering wheel work for air-cooled Porsches. They're in Poland but the shipping costs seem to be worth the savings in labor.

Thanks fellas. Hoping to tidy up a few more things today, realized I need a few small things before I can try and start it, so spending time in areas I wasn’t planning on just yet.
