'89 240 no starter

noticed this morning starter seemed to crank like it was old and tired. drove down the block to fill up fuel & then no action from the starter. lights on, tried starting in N but no luck. wanked on the solenoid a lil bit but nothing. tests? thoughts?
 
* just walked back the filling station with my bag of torture tools and it started right up. battery tests good btw. Drove her home and then re started with no issues. ....?
 
I haven't had any issues the rest of the day getting it started. i'll clean connections for now and keep an eye on it.
