See introduction here.

Its an '86 245DL with pretty nice blue vinyl interior and enough rust to justify cutting it up. It needs outer floors and rocker panels. The deal was $250 cash and a 13mm rod B230FT (which I paid $75 for) and he'd drive it to my house. 230k miles and sounds really good. The motor mounts are even in-tact! The best part? It's an M46 and shifts like butter. So all in, loaded down with a shed full of spare parts, for $325. What's not to like?

I justified getting it because I'm tired of hauling parts in the V70R which has severe camber with a B230 short block in the back, let alone any real weight. Also, I can take this to school and not worry about getting hit/rusting/snow issues.

So what did it come with?
Functional blue cargo cover, 2.5 sets of blue floor trays, blue rear cargo mat, 7 spare minty headlights, 1.5 turbo gauge packs, all the rear bushings (OEM) that need to be replaced, more spares than I'll ever need, spare armrest foam and brackets (no cover), factory 2" hitch and receiver, factory/dealer small tach and ammeter.

Plans:
Fix leaking brake junction block
Fix leaking power steering rack
iPD overload springs and sway bars
K cam and a small skim off the head
Fix/stop the rust near structural points
Re-bush the whole rear end

Inventoried some of the parts that came with the car.
So far, I have encountered:
3.5 pairs of OE Cibie headlights
3 pairs of OE turn signals
2 pairs of OE wagon taillights
6 OE rear view mirrors
More black, blue, and brown window cranks than I can count.
2 turbo gauge packs (1 with bezel, 1 without)
4 lone individual OE gauge holders
1 complete small tach setup with bezel
1 alternator
2 007 MAF's
Complete and functional blue cargo cover
2 sets of blue floor trays in good shape
Tune up parts out the wazoo

Sadly (or maybe not), this car's fate has been determined. I am in the process of buying Brett's 1983 245T/AW71 and will use this car as a donor for manual trans stuff.

So, what happened here? Nothing?

Put the car on the shop lift, realized how severely gone all the sheet metal was (even for a body guy/fabricator) and sold it to a local TB'er/friend for equally cheap to use as a manual donor car for his very solid 245.
