![]() After the initial install of the bigger turbo, I was intoxicated with +/- 14 psi blasts that settled to 12.
Boost video! But then I messed it up. I played with the MBC and actuator adjustments. Because, I don’t know.

![]() I elected to install a metal gasket between the turbo and the waste gate. My hypothesis is that the bottom edge of WG valve was seated on the edge of the gasket.

![]() If...
The valve was sitting on a +/- .020” gasket, would that have a meaningful reduction in boost? Could this have “changed” in any way since I installed it? Not likely... Time for a test drive. |

![]() No change after WG gasket removal.
MBC in or out, no difference. Pulled manifold reference hose from actuator. Again, no change. ![]() ![]() Last edited by LC4CARL; 01-09-2021 at 08:35 PM.. |

![]() sounds like the same process i went through when actually my wastegate adjustment was just dumb.

![]() LOL.
Ordered an actuator with a 22 lb spring and a chip to raise the redline to 6,700. Go big. ![]() |

![]() Hoping for 200 whp with the boost at 14-15 psi. Saw about 150 in March of '19 (Has it really been that long?) with the "Turbo 1" set-up and 10 psi.
Did the coil-over suspension and "Turbo 2" upgrades in '20. Hard to believe. Hoping to do the T5 this year. Time flies. ![]() |

![]() The DL in its native environment: On a jack stand.
![]() New ATP actuator has a MASSIVE spring in it. ![]() In order to line everything up, we had to re-clock the turbo. Which sucked. ![]() ![]() |

![]() Well, on the positive side we have absolutely confirmed the cause and origin of my low-boost condition. On the negative side, I am apparently a very slow learner when it comes to the functionality of the MBC. For whatever reason I believed that I should over-spring the target pressure, then bleed it off with the MBC for fine-tuning. Obviously the inverse is true.
Do you think 25 psi is too much for an M47? ![]() |
