Has anybody done it or know of anybody who has?
I've got links and info for 7/900's but I haven't seen any info on anybody putting one into a 240.
I'm putting a B230FT with megasquirt and a Holset turbo into a '79 GT and would love to put a 6 speed manual into it
Thanks for any info.

JohnMC has one in a 240 behind an LS motor...

Yeah, it's behind an LS motor, and that was scooted forward a bit (1.25 inches) for some other packaging concerns. So the positioning might be different behind a redblock.

It's a bulky transmission - especially further back - near the middle and rear ends, compared to the narrowing taper of the 240's tunnel. I had to do a modest amount of tunnel hammering, combined with some judicious use of an angle grinder knocking off various non-functional bumps and tabs on the trans case.

And it will need a top mount shifter. Even the shortest of short rear mounts will be too long.

I did this with a Volvo 260 hydraulic clutch master and a T56 master cylinder, both ends with AN adapters and a generic AN clutch hose between them. And a Yoshifab T5 crossmember (which I already had) and an 'adapter' (chunk of sturdy metal with three holes drilled in it) to mount the T5 trans mount to the CD009 trans. The crossmember ended up on the last set of bolt holes in the 240 frame rails.

You will want to pay particular attention to the gear ratios. For a 6 speed manual, all of the ratios are pretty low.
First Gear Ratio :-)1):3.79
Second Gear Ratio :-)1):2.32
Third Gear Ratio :-)1):1.62
Fourth Gear Ratio :-)1):1.27
Fifth Gear Ratio :-)1):1.00
Sixth Gear Ratio :-)1):0.79

I'm still using it with the 3.73 rear axle my 240 originally came with (automatic car) and it's all just geared too short. Of course, that's with a 5.3L V8 and a turbo, but I think the gearing would be annoyingly short with a punch turbo redblock as well. I plan on changing it to something closer to 3:1, 3.1:1 when I swap the Ford 8.8 I have in. I'll do some more pondering on that ratio when I get around to that project. But currently, a lot of the time I just end up skip-shifting my way along. 1-2-4-6, or 1-3-5.

There are some pics of the trans starting here: http://forums.tbforums.com/showthread.php?t=166061&page=48

It is a cool setup, but that is T56 money.

Not sure where you get that....
t56 3200.00
Adapter plate 3-400
Driveshaft 2-400.
Clutch 800
Throw out bearing 2-300.
Trans mount 1-200.
Shift lever 100
Total 4900-5300 depending on skills and part preferences. Also, not a drop in solution.

That tko kit, literally included a everything needed to drop into your daily driver. I figure if you started on Friday night, you?d be doing burnouts just in time for Sunday brunch.

Shoot, if you're decently quick and are starting with a manual car, you should be able to knock out the swap with Tate's setup in 2-3 hours. I know I can have an m46/47 flopped out of a car in 10-15 minutes on a lift...

I was accounting for stare factor... you know, 2-3 beers worth of staring at it between every 20-30 minutes of actually doing anything.

Also, gravel driveway and 2x4s. too cheap for jackstands.

I'm kind of in the process of doing it.
You'll need (Or what I did)
M46/M47 bellhousing
Deeworks redblock to CD009 adapter plate https://www.deeworks.ca/product/volvo-redblock-to-350z-370z-g35-g37-6-speed-transmission-adapter/
CD009 trans with the bellhousing trimmed off
A clutch in the appropriate diameter with a nissan spline count (I used this https://yoshifab.com/store/235mm-clutch-and-flywheel-package.html) but there are other options
Autosport Engineering front mount https://autosportsengineering.com/p...neering-cd009-shifter-relocation-front-mount/
Cd009 Slip yoke https://zcardepot.com/products/transmission-driveshaft-slip-yoke-input-350z-cd009
1310 U joint https://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p4...niversal_joint_9.25_greaseable_1310_seri.html
1310 Weld yoke https://www.drivetrainamerica.com/spicer-2-28-357-1310-weld-yoke-2-x-083/
Getting the stock driveshaft shortened is only about 150$, or at least thats what the shop around the corner quoted me.

If the math is right, it should put the adapted CD009 shifter right in the hole where the stock one is. Both are ~28" from block to shifter.

I have everything but the clutch, driveshaft, and modded crossmember for sale in Houston(including a flat lh2.4 lightweight flywheel). I went turbo LS with 4l80 instead. I also bought the autosports engineering shift relocator. With fastenal shipping down for the covid, I haven't been able to get a quote to ship it yet.

Of course. What would you like your monthly payment to be?
*slides you into an 84 month lease*

Of course, it isn't easy to spend money on something expensive now, but you will spend more on spare parts for your old car than on a new Nissan.

yeah but you'll spend more on spare parts for your new nissan than you will your old car... while you're paying for that new nissan.

Yoshifab has the parts for this swap he has one in his NA car he sells adapters parts crossmembers clutch's and driveshafts. he also has parts for the 7/9 swap
