140 carburetor conversion; DGEV vs DCOE

The bowl vent/static air port is on the inlet face - so it makes it pretty easy to do. For really high boost levels you might want to replace the bowl covers, I think. There were some factory turbo DCOE cars, I think, with reinforced covers.
 
50 & 55mm DCO/SP's have a sealed throttle shaft on one side for use under pressure.

If you are really serious about doing a turbo pushrod motor, I think a second thought about DIY EFI might be worth it.
Especially for the money you'll spend on carbs vs. EFI and the tunability for boost.
 
I'd have to agree there /\ /\ /\

Blow through carbs can work, but people mostly did that when they didn't have better options. Programmable fuel injection/ignition is a better option. And not even all that expensive these days.
