Default t+ complete, apc installed...i am a little skeptical

Finished my t+ on my 89 240. works great, drove 800 miles on it in the last week...awesome.

simple setup:

K cam
Original CR
Grooved head
Garret t25
Stock IC
normal turbo AMM
greentops
efan
m47
mbc set to ~10psi

Now...i heard about these APC things. So i thought...sweet..ill get one then i wont have to worry about anything because this is my DD.

So got a redbox the other day off here and it came yesterday, so i put it in today...blah blah blah

long and short..i am not sure if its limiting hte boost to 15psi or if i am just lifting because i am scared...I unplugged the APC and it goes back to 7psi...so...

QUESTION: does a redbox usually do this? is it possible that the high compression turbo motor is actually not pinging there?

It goes to what its set too then backs off if it pings. therefore you're probably not pinging at 15PSI, I don't think the redboxs run at 15PSI anyway, more like 10-12. so you sure your MBC is set right?

P.S. thanks for stealing the redbox off me

oh woops, i took off the MBC when i put in the APC...

the best part is that i didnt even see the listing for it until wayyy late and my buddy called me the next day telling me he got it... and sold it to me yesterday...

So....is it working improperly then if i am hitting 15psi?

Here you go:

I was doing a lot of modifications to these a few years back. I have forgot some of it now, but back in the days it was really fun. The red box is the best, and the red box is the most fun to modify.

Couple things...

I still don't understand what you're asking here...

What is your base boost set at? It should be 5psi... you set this at the wastegate.

Did you perform a complete installation? solenoid valve, bleed valve, knock sensor piggyback, pressure differential sensor?

Are you holding your foot to the floor and only getting 15psi? That sounds about right. If it is an actual redbox, I think they were geared to that range.
