Default 93 240 Wagon 5.3L L83 w/8L90 Project

Since I've started making some progress on my build I thought I would start a thread, let people see what kind of idiocy I'm getting into. This is very much a trial and error process so far with my swap but I'm learning a lot.

Car is a 1993 240 Wagon that I picked up with some damage to the right front corner for cheap.

Engine is a 2015 DI Gen V L83 from a Silverado

Transmission is an 8L90 - eight speed automatic that lives under many different vehicles, mine is the slip yoke variety.

Why? Well, I had been looking for a decent 240 for awhile and wanted to do an LS swap. Then Decided I would do something a little bit different since most of that can be easily be figured out/purchased. Probably a mistake but oh well.

This transmission is a big boi, like regrettably large. That's what BFHs are for.

The stock oil pan is a monstrosity and had to go either way. Replaced with a Holley pan, Moroso makes one that probably would squeak in with the stock front subframe but where is the fun in that?

I'll leave this post with some pics of where I'm at so far. Welds aren't the greatest to look at, but they're what I've got and I'm getting better. A little mock up, still need to add the steering rack mounts.

Sits low but the subframe in the front is just low enough that it would be the first point of impact and I might make a brace to protect the pan further.

You need a 'h.JPG' on the end of your pic links.

The 'h' makes them a reasonable size.

That motor is tucked down nice and low.
