Given that I started with the same car and did roughly the same, take a look here:
The red 745 build

Short list of items:
- conversion loom either use stock with eco wiring (will go bad) or directly go to conversion loom from Elbert Bos or Dave Barton
- 940 fuel injection sender hat, or 740 injection sender setup with secondary pump (can be replaced by walboro 255 or 450 intank pump only)
- 940 radiator, intercooler and mountings (direct swap)
- 940 rear axle for working 48t signal (direct swap)
- 48t to 12t convertor to make dash work (I have a design, just ask;)
- possibly m90 transmission driveshaft and trans support (also direct swap)
- Turbo exhaust from 940 (also direct swap:p)

Do you really need the 48 tooth rear axle signal?
My 240 has the 12 teeth tone ring in the diff and the turbo ecu's work perfectly with those.
LH takes the signal from the back of the cluster, just like the cruise control.

You could use a 240 engine loom from a LH2.4 car (1989+?).

As far as I'm aware all 940's come equipped with 9xx-series ecu's which require the different signal iirc. The correct tone ring will make sure you can use the automatic deceleration, assuming it's a manual
