Yes indeed. There were suddenly a lot of T5s breaking the 300bhp ceiling when people started ditching the TD04s.

Having said that, one car here rolled 375 crank on a TD04. With a heavily worked head and forged internals. At 2 Bar. I think the smart money is on Chesh's approach.

cheers

James

interesting... is that the little bastard that is in the oil filter/cooler compartment? Which is only accessible from the top of the sump?

On a 960 sump it is towards the back near clutch slave cylinder, it's a drain back into the sump from the 960pcv setup.

When running boost oil just hisses out there and not out the standard pcv breather.

I think Jacob uses it to drain his crankcase breather back to the sump but he does have a one way valve in there.

As my engine has done 150k, I just blocked of the sump connection, and the pcv that comes from breather box is vented to a milk container cabled tied to the strut tower, I just put a fresh container in three every 500miles ditching the gunk that comes out.

Crankcase breathing is something to factor in with building the new engine, I've seen added breathers on the top, which I'll have to consider as I would like a clean engine bay one day.

For now the oily mist keeps the rust at bay I guess.

When I get round to updating the build thread on the 850 I have now got a TD05 20G on it and built a completely new breather system you may want to look at.

Well no real updates to the car, but hopefully soon an order will arrive for the next proper update. Plus I got some bits from the painters to install.

In the meantime took the car to the Retro Rides show, and took part in the hill climb.

It said on the ground clean the tyres, well i could only clean one, but i'll be addressing that soon.....

The cars also now developed a miss on WOT on full boost, so some investigation is also in order whilst i tear the car down.

But heres the in car video from a run up the strip.

and a video Frankie filmed from somewhere up the hill, cheers chap.

Thats all for now.

WOT miss could be plugs. T5's are notorious about being finicky about plugs.

Love the commentary at the end of the in-car, nice!

Looked like a fun run up that hill for sure.

I was just about to say that. It's a friendly reminder that I need to replace plugs.

Oh, Chesh, remember, that hill was quite steep, so that miss might be the engine needing more fuel? Could that be an option to investigate?

Put a set of plain old NGK's in instead of the brand new Bosch Platinums that were in it and the spark blowout was gone.

That is all, some parts for the car have gone to paint, but no further updates really.

Well again very little has happened in 2014 in progress. The car just works and other things have taken up my time to develop the car further.

One of the things sucking up time and cash has been getting married to my lovely other half Nat. This took place on the 13th of December 2014 and although i tried to convince her the 750R would make a good wedding car she wasn't convinced and there was a danger my wedding car was going to be a VW Camper van

So having Secured a more suitable car for my bride to be to ride to the church and for us to ride to reception, the VW camper van was banished to Bridesmaids duty and taking the brides parents to reception...

This left me with no ride to the church nor my parents a ride to reception........

So we queued the A-Team theme music and i threw loads of body kit parts in the car and drove to Yorkshire to see Ste & John

There the frantic work music stopped as i inspected the garage of John & Ste where many shiny polished creations take place and we talked the talk, went to pub as always far preferable than working on cars.

We considered throwing an engine in John's 164 quickly to make it a wedding car but knew my bride wouldn't be happy unless the engine had 24 coats of paint on the block and there was a supercharger attached. Her standards for the wedding were very high!!!

So parts were left with Ste to paint, these included the lower front airdam, some genuine NOS Add on front splitters, a set of Add on Side Skirts, an SE Boot/Trunk Spoiler and set of 940 Mirrors.

Working to a tight deadline Ste painted the bits and took a trip down to mine to deliver them and help install with 3 days to go before the wedding.

A full 8 hours were spent installing the kit, with Ste then polishing and detailing the whole car again.

Finally it was ready, with some of the bodykit parts having sat on my shelves for 7 years waiting to go on I was now the proud owner of a very special looking 740!!!

The car received many positive comments on the day and i cant thank Ste enough for delivering the final product you see before you.

He truly went out of his way to get the car looking so great and i must thank Foggy for acting as Chauffeur to my parents to reception, even if he didn't get to use all the power as he was stuck behind the camper!!!!

And now for some extra pictures....

I particularly love this ass shot of the car now, the SE Spoiler and the add on rear lower spoiler looks fantastic, especially without having any cuts in it for the exhaust tips.
Finally people will stop wondering why i had the exhaust tips dropped down when the exhaust was built.

I am so glad i took the advice of the great Pete Fluitman (RIP) and left the lower spoiler unpainted as I agree with him saying there was no need for paint on a black car and it matches the bumper so much better.

Jobs for 2015

Full Suspension overhaul
Install a proper diff in the back (Ben have you been to the laser cutters yet???)
Brake Upgrade
Derust and rustproof the underneath.

Possibly engine build up then more boooooooooost!!!!!!

Wow, awesome! The add on pieces really topped off the look of the car. Pete was right, leaving the pieces black really worked well. The future looks promising for the car.

Congrats on the marriage, too!

Pretty sure it was a conspiracy to stop me having too much fun

Great time was had at the wedding, and I think the car looks fantastic. Just need to sort out the knocking from underneath, and get some more tuning done!

cheers
