Your number 2 in my list at the moment. My housemate (foggyjames) has already called dibs last night but I do need to test this one first to make sure it is all working.

Looks great

I recognize that intercooler! Iveco FTW

One injector went bad? I just bought new injectors (i think the same ones, 4-beam 630 cc Siemens Deka from racetronix). What did you do about it? warranty or cleaning?

They went off to a friend who runs a dyno to see if he could sort them out. He had a lot of trouble making them seal since they seem to be slightly smaller than bosch ones. He has sent them back as I will need them for the weekend but not sure if he finally got to test them or not.

and yes, those were the same as mine. Seems one of the flow matched set was not flowing the same at all and causing one of the cylinders to run lean. Thats why i am running 10:1 afr or lower at full boost, in order to try and protect it.

lol. I need to stop reading this thread - Keeps making me what to drive the car.

Spent the last two nights changing the head gasket on it (again) as it decided to start drinking the coolant. Almost ready to starting hitting the streets in lincoln again.

If reading this makes you want one...don't go for a ride in it It's fast, with a capital FUUUUUUUUCCCC.....anyway....

Interestingly, the lean condition is now on #1. We didn't mark #3's injector before we sent it off, but it seems that one is now in #1...and an injector is indeed to blame. We'll stick it in #2, and see if that shows signs of lean running after a couple of hundred miles. If so...that injector has a date with a firing squad.

cheers

James

Small hyjack here but is the B230FB a good base engine to Turbo, I have one in my car and thought it would need a bit doing to it.

Probably the best engine to +T if you'd like to stay LH2.4 (except for the cam which isn't a good cam combined with a turbocharger).

So the china turbo did actually pretty well, since it didn't blow up sooner?!

Yeah, 3 years and high boost didn't appear to put it off. Only issue now is the seals have gone on it and its burning oil.

For the last year, the turbo has been chattering when I let off due to the dump valve not really being big enough. I'm guess that might be what has killed it.

Ok, sounds like it might be an option for future plans.

Why not just put in new seal from ebay?

We're not sure what to do for the best. It's proving hard to find a new turbo which is a direct match, as the new 'XS Powah' ones are a bit different. Genuine Garrett turbos are a bit spendy, and again it's not that east to find something which is exactly right...plus do we go external gate at this point, since this thing will creep to over 20psi whatever we do? Some people suggest that a seal kit is worthwhile. Others say no, and that unless the turbo is balanced, it will fail again soon anyway.

So many questions...

cheers
