Dang, one of the cleanest interiors on TB. Nice project!

Thank you, the interior is one of my favorite parts of the car. It was a lot of gathering little parts here and there. The suede headliner was my favorite update. My father and I managed it in two weekends. 3rd row soon to come, just for laughs. Couldn't pass it up at the JY

Glad to finally see a build thread on this. I've been following you for years and was wondering why such a clean project wasn't posted here yet.

That is a good looking wagon for sure! Glad to see these enthusiasts from TN.... I'll be living east of Knoxville next year.

I've always heard legend of the 91 940SE..... don't rightly know what made it special, if anything. Perhaps all marketing hype? Thought it was partly 960 and partly 940, but I've never seen a real one.

Good luck with the IPD Turbo cam.... I was disappointed in mine (they wear quickly) but YMMV. If there is a gathering in TN I hope to see your vehicle there. Any desire to make a 3 pedal out of this, or just rock the AW71?

This is just a regular 940 with the 740se kit. The real 940se is a 960 chassis with the 4 banger. definitely not marketing hype there is a noticeable difference in quality in the interior. They're built better overall , less interior noise, better turbo, generally better spec. Nivomats on the wagon and on the sedans for ride quality. IRS on the sedans which makes them handle so much better than a regular 940.

I'd go to a TN gathering just to see this thing haha If there ever is one in east TN I'd be there!

Where can one get the clear light fixtures?

He said it 940 with 740se kit. It's missing the snow scoop. Gotta get one of those! I gotta 95 940 turbo white wagon with no sunroof! I drilled a hole in the roof for CB antenna..

Love this thing! Been a fan since before the SE kit was installed. Always admired how clean this build is

Any tips and tricks on the headliner? I plan on replacing my saggy, dirty tan one with black, as well.

It's there, just not color matched like it would be on an SE. I got the cap long before the body kit

Thanks! I've followed your stuff for a long while. Funny enough I got a set of ecodes from you back in 2018.

I have a full powertrain from a 1990 740 turbo. m46 and b230ft. Plan is to fully refresh all of it and drop it in together. I've been slacking because the aw71 is just so damn reliable

Have a very patient and meticulous father willing to help:ROFLMAO:

In all seriousness though my father and I did the job in two weekends having ZERO prior experience with anything upholstery. Watch some youtube videos, use a thin material, and use good 3M adhesive. The hardest part is wrapping the sunroof panels, but it gives you great access to service the unit. After the headliner job my sunroof has worked 100% flawless. I even take this thing through automatic (touchless) car washes with no worries.

Got two long awaited projects done over the weekend:
302mm front brake upgrade
BNE spring perches and shorter rear springs

I used Nugeon reman calipers from rockauto ($25 a piece after core) with brackets
Akebono ceramic pads (amazing pads for the money and keep my big ole wheels clean)
Zimmerman rotors

There are multiple good threads for fitting this upgrade, can easily be done in an afternoon

As for the BNE perches and new rear springs; I've been annoyed by these BC coilovers since installing them due to them not going low enough for my liking in the rear.

Solved this with Ben's rear perches and some Suspension Spring Specialists 5" diameter 8" length 500lb springs (yes I know, and yes it's STIFF)

Fixed my rubbing issues and was able to tame the rake I had beforehand
