245 wagon leak

Where would water be getting into this box section on the rear of a wagon.

Taillights seem separate.
From the hinges on the roof?

Any insight would be appreciated.

The most common leak on wagons I've seen is the side rear windows leak at the rear corners. That's where they rust out, too.

Side windows are good.
Nothing visible yet at least.

Any ideas how the water is getting to that spot?

I am still thinking the hinge gaskets body side.

Sure the hinges can leak. The tailgate seal can leak. If you have a roof rack the holes for the bolts can leak.

Can you post a more zoomed-out picture with something in it that I recognize? What year 245?

The rear window gaskets in the earlier 245 didn't have drain/weep holes and water would go from the outside, around the glass, up the gasket, and dribble down inside.

Can you just hose it down all over from the outside while enjoying a refreshing beverage and check the interior when done?

Even the tail light to body seal breaks down with age.

Just painted the interior floor. Hopefully Sunday I can chill out and let the rain show me the fault.
