Anyone making an early 142 Recaro Seat Bracket?

Hi

Does anyone make an off the shelf seat bracket for an early 140? My car is a '68 and I think it's time to ditch the love seat in favor of something with a little more support.

Are the 122 seats similar?

Yea I realized that I asked this question already.. and that it has been asked before.. but once I made the post I couldn't delete it.

So maybe 15,000th times the charm and we get an answer?

Joe,

As a data point the 122 and 140/164 have the same U-shaped mount set up, but the 122 ones are an inch or so shorter in width so they are not interchangeable. If you can find a 1975 164, the mounts are adapted to take 240 style seats. That is what i did in my old 1973 142 which had the 242GT interior.

Ohhh interesting.

The floor is the same for all 140s/164s yea? It's just the seat type that changes?

that's also great info on the 122 seat brackets. You can get recaro/corbeau seat mounts for 122s pretty readily, and then it probably isn't that hard to add an inch to the center.

Or if this is actually for the 140 https://www.lethalperformance.com/corbeau-driver-side-volvo-142-e-wide-73-seat-bracket-e414.html

As far as I know it is always the 3-point, u-shaped mount for the 140/164s. The Lethal Performance link you shared, to me almost looks more like a mount meant for a 240 series car but backwards with the 4 mounting points with the two of them parallel to the floor and the other two almost perpendicular.

On my 1973 142E When I first picked up the car I was able to rig up a 240 seat to the 140 mounts. Did this by using some spacers/washers and trimming off off the front mounting ear on the seat frame to raise the seat up to allow the seat sliders to operate correctly. Sometime later, found a 1975 164 in the boneyard and grabbed the seat mounts from that car.

Modifying a 240 seat to fit onto a 140 seat frame:

240 seats with the 1975 164 mounts Note the adjuster/slider bar in front of the seat and not the push button on the side of seat.

I'll have to start trolling the yards here to see if I can find one.

I think that lethal performance picture is just a generic photo of a "seat bracket." If it truly does fit a 140 then it'd be a good option. I was only sketched out because it was a very specific title for it. "73 volvo 140 wide" makes it seem like it really is for 73 and 73 only.
