Was going to eat with Jess and a friend of mine when the guy in front of the guy in front of me decided to lock up his brakes in the middle of a green intersection to pick up a guy who was standing on the side of the road. Guy in front of me locked up in his 90's Escort, and my brakes didn't even lock.

It didn't really do much to his car, my bumper went under his and my front end made the crumple zone. Nothing mechanical is broken, just some plastic, metal and a little pride. I'm not too upset as it was already going to be parked anyway. Later this week the front end from a 1976 245 at my friends shop is going to be on it. Nothing like a nice seafoam flathood and fender.

Over all, glad everyone is okay. Cars are just stuff.

I'm glad you did not buy my '80 242 now.;-) hate you messed up your car.

Sucks man. :grrr:
Back to quad squares or the real dealio 7" rounds?

I just bought brand new 5 1/2'' rounds. Only one is broken, and I have another drivers side set up in the trunk. So probably back to the quads. :-D

I have the squares in the trunk if I want to go back to them. The rounds on the 1976 I'm getting my stuff from now live on Jess's 242.

I'm glad you did not buy my '80 242 now.;-) hate you messed up your car.

I would have still been in my 242 had I bought yours. It will all be okay, she has lots of other problems that need addressed. I'll just roll in the 940, and put the 242 down in the carport to be taken apart.

I was behind someone who stopped hard to look at firewood, state cop coming in the other lane, and I was barely able to stop. I cussed him hard over the horn I was leaning on.

I think you are supposed to compress it the other way for flathood conversion.
At least no major drama was involved in the hurting of this grill.

Funny thing is, the commandos actually went under the Escort. Thats what caused the upper portion to get pushed in so much.

That is incorrect. What happened was: The Escort's bumper failed, and rode over the top of the 240's Commando bumper.;-)

damn, my brothers maroon 242 was just hit...
havent torn anything apart (happened at 10pm) but from the looks of it, pretty much cosmetic.....maybe a tierod or control arm as he said there was a slight shimmy

there are a lot of people who shouldnt be driving...

My best friend was in the back seat and did a super faceplant into the headrest. I lol'd so hard at it later.

Just imagining Volvo headrest shaped bruising made me smile. Sucks about the damage though.

The guy was cool, it didn't do much to his car so we just shook hands and went our ways.

Sorry about your, you are a saint of a man. If some asshole slammed on his brakes to pick a pedestrian up and caused me to rear-end him, I would be ****in' on fire. I don't follow close so hopefully it wouldn't happen but plenty of cars can out-stop a 240.
