My '79 245 at the end of the first round of basic work since purchasing it last month. Work so far:
- New cooling system (radiator, hoses, pump, tstat)
- New exhaust system from headpipe back (2.25") incl cat delete
- New fuel pumps (both) new main line from tank to main pump, new filter
- New timing belt/tensioner
- New coil, rotor, cap, wires and spark plugs
- New 100A alternator
- New belts & vacuum lines
- modded airbox with new filter
- wire wheeled and primed/painted stock steelies (original chrome center caps going on soon).
- wire wheeled and primed/painted valve cover, replaced gasket/cam seal

It is set for DD use, with the next round of projects already lining up:
- dial in (to the extent possible) the K-Jet system
- Install IPD sways (25/25) - have in hand
- new springs/struts/bushings/balljoints/etc
- e-fan conversion

Picked this up yesterday, 'Fjord Blue' '93 240SE. What wheels/colour combination would people recommend? I may go for dirty gold Virgos.

I'd keep the meshies. They're nicer than virgos imo.

The car will be going lower on GAZ GAI adjustable inserts plus springs so do 40mm drop and it'll sit there. The trim will all be changed to black GLT trim plus a black egg crate.

Dark silver Virgos was tempting, or dirty gold. Wonder how that'd look with polished nuts and centre caps.
