Going to go back to the original headlamp setup. I found a complete set with the frames, my originals were toast, and the lenses were yellowed. The problem with the Depot Ecodes is that the adjusters are crap - I haven't been able to get the the low beams or fogs properly set since I put them in.
I do prefer the way they look, but I need good lighting for all the early morning & night driving.

I used H4 LED bulbs for mine, if I can figure out where I got em from I'll link you.

Hi - thank you Corivus - I still have the original harness connectors, so I was going to get 9004 LEDs - I've used Auxito brand in the past, which are not the cheapest, however they have the built in fans/heat sink for heat dissipation at the back. I have the H4 version in eCodes now. It would be this one, not too OT in terms of output level. What brand did you use?
 
Finally got around to this - made the brackets needed to refit the single lamp units, using some suitable gauge leftover SS sheet

Test fit grille & grille brackets, which attach to the same headlamp mount brackets

With the fitment done, I moved on to rewiring the bulb sockets (back to original configuration)

Made a new adapter harness for the dual filament bulb holder, to replace the two singles. Also went with a later model socket that does not use those older bullet type connectors. They don't actually lock into the bayonet fitting, so I need to modify the sleeve to add an alternate seal

Nice.... I bought that same kit for my old 92 sedan... same templates, lights. Did yours coming with factory harness & relays? Mine was the whole shebang.

That bumper didn't last 6 months when a millenial (on her phone) drove right into me at a 3 way stop. After replacing that front bumper & grille, I knew it was time to sell that sedan. Nice work, easy peasy compared to the things you've done.

I did have the entire kit with harness, switch & relays - mine was pre-wired for fogs, so I didn't need the harness, and I got the dual fog switch, and the relay is specific to just a few years - the generic cube will short out the headlight switch yellow/white wire all the way to the fusebox, ask me how I know :mad:

yes, this is easy, mentally relaxing work. The X1/9 is finally leaving today, so I can start rearranging the rest of the garage & prepare for the V8 conversion.

It was indeed! in addition, I'd never seen the car rolling in it's current form - no one else has driven it besides me, so it was definitely weird.
 
Working on the C30...

I swapped out the screaming pump today (in the rain - was supposed to be dry from around 2 - 9pm, so much for that) - and discovered after I put it all together that there are actually two versions for connectors used for the power supply, and needless to say, the one I put in is the oddball Ford version (Amphenol FCI) that I cannot find any reference source to online. All the vendors (and there are many) that sell the terminals & housings for these pumps have the "type 1" variant 30728420 housing (same as my 2012, not the same as earlier 04-05 pumps) .

So, I'm just going to rebuild the one I removed & put it back. So much for saving time by rebuilding one up front. Need to order more CHF 202 Pentosin PS fluid as well
